: Q-Turn Worm Gear Operators :

The TRANSPOWER make Q-Turn Gear units are the quarter turn worm gear operators and are specialy designed to operate valves that turn through 90°. These include, Ball, Butterfly, Plug Valves and also the Dampers. Adjustable, mechanical stoppers are provided to set the operation within ± 5° of the extreme positions. A mechanical position indicator is provided on these units to show the valve position.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION "TRANSPOWER" Q-TURN WORM GEAR OPERATORS

The gear operators are manufactured and supplied as per DATA SHEET provided by the customer.
The operators are of `External-screw-mounting' type and the mounting holes are provided as per the Data sheet.

Check the valve spindle dimensions and the over-key dimensions. Ensure they match with the gear operator installed on it.
Bring the valve and the gear operator to their intermediate positions.
Loosen the position stopper bolts.
Mount the gear operator on the valve spindle by lowering it on the mounting flange. If the gear operator is heavy (Large size), use chain pulley block for the purpose.
The gear operator should fit smoothly without any jerks and james.
Match the mounting holes on valve flange and the gear operator and gradually tighten down the gear operator. Ensure smooth running of the operator by rotating the handwheel while tightening the mounting bolts.
